I can't quite comprehend the idea of being an adult. I can't quite pinpoint why power bills are extremely expensive when you barely turned on the air condition. It is still a mystery how my dog is able to shed gazillions of fur in a span of 24 hours. None of these make sense!

I have never left home since I was born. I have never tried flatting nor running away so I never knew what it feels like living on my own. My brother is in the defence force so he is always sent to random places every now then so he's mostly away from home. My parents took a holiday back home to the Philippines for a month which means I am left on my own.

I'm honestly surprised that they did consider leaving me alone and in charged of the house. Talk about building trust! For some reason, the house looks daunting and much bigger when you're alone. I mean I do have the company of Miracle the Labrador and the boyfriend but still, being given the responsibility of the household and every living thing that surrounds the house and yes, that includes the plants that my mother oh so love, just took me all by surprise. On a good note, the house still stands in one piece.

I suppose the hardest part of being alone is when the bills starts knocking in your bank account. I have never been fully aware of our household's utility bills since I have only been putting some money here and there where it is needed. Same goes for the amount of maintenance the grass and the plants needs! I've always wanted to have a house of my own with a massive garden and long driveways but at the moment, I'm sort of reconsidering this preference of mine. May not be suitable for my liking.

On the bright side, I suppose I enjoy the freedom it comes with. Don't get me wrong, I miss my family dearly but its as little as having the ability to wash the dishes at your own leisure. Mind you, it brings very little freedom since you're still tied up with all the responsibilities that comes with it but surely everything has its ups and downs.

Call me Miss Independent if you may! I can only imagine what life with be like once I have my own household and children running around knocking things over!

Gosh!

Let's put that off as long as we can, shall we?
