Weekend Shenanigans

I obviously have underestimated the weekend because I am just dead tired! Partly because I am not feeling well but nonetheless, it has been a lovely weekend.
Early Saturday, I had our work team bbq which was held in our manager's humble abode. Her house was located in a place called Diamond Harbour. It was at least 20 minutes drive from my house to the port where we take the ferry. The ferry ride didn't take more than ten minutes but the ride was certainly lovely!
I made sure that I was there early enough so that I won't be left behind by the ferry but because finding a space for parking was impossible, I think I spend 15 minutes looking for a car park and when I finally found a sparking space, I only have 8 minutes to spare. I was running and sweating and I had no clue where the wharf was and thank goodness I found a few people who is going on the same ferry as well. I manage to get there in time and I had a couple of my work mates who will be taking the ferry and thank goodness for that because upon paying for my ticket, only then that I knew that they don't accept card payment! Its either cash or a metro card (bus card) which I don't have. I had to borrow money from my workmates! It was soo embarrassing but thank goodness they both did not mind. The boat was already moving by the time I manage to gather enough money to pay for my ticket. Imagine if my workmates didn't have any money left on them, would they have kicked me off the ferry to swim back? Or would they let me off the hook just for that one time? Interesting thought.
I had to leave early from the team bbq because I have another party to go to. Its a family Christmas Party on my boyfriend's side. The theme was masquerade and I didn't have the outfit at all but still, I thought I might as well wear something that would be considered as "close enough".
Of course, the boyfriend never fails to capture the best moments (and my less ugly angles).

I have the best boyfriend in the world! I don't know if he'd say the same to me though! He's always up for anything and all I have to do is look at the camera and the rest is him working his magic. I know I've mentioned him quite a few times already, I should really create a proper introduction for him but don't you worry, that is to happen very soon.

From left is my boyfriend, then me of course, his baby sister, the momsie and popsie. I don't know if you can tell but three of us, the boyfriend, baby sister and I went through quite a bit during that same day.
I arrived home from the team bbq around 6pm and I had to get ready for the Christmas party which inevitably took longer than the average. My boyfriend as usual, waited for me to finish getting ready. At 7.25pm, we went to the venue of the Christmas party to drop off some food and had to leave right after to pick up baby sister from her workplace. It is quite a drive, lets say maybe 20 minutes from the venue to her work place. After picking her up, we had to go to their house to pick up her clothes and a few extra food for the party and little did we know, neither my boyfriend and baby sister has a house key on them.
Horrifying as it may be, we had to drive back home to my place, which is around 15 minutes drive to get my boyfriend's key then head back to their house to get the stuff they needed. By the time we got to the party, we had to get our family picture taken straight away and here we are, pretending nothing really happened.
It was exhausting for everyone but I am glad that the night was enjoyed by everyone and the true spirit of Christmas was certainly felt throughout the night. The night consisted of EATING, parlour games and family presentations. Don't even ask how our family went because we were just fabulous! HAHAHA! Fabulous is definitely an understatement but this is me being humble.
Half of my Sunday was spent curled up due to back and stomach pain. But still, I manage to get a few things done around the house and went to church. It may not have been as productive as the day before but I'm glad I manage to get some extra rest before going into a new week. A lot happened but still, never did I ever felt that it was all too much, everything was just right.
We all have our misfortunes and it will not only happen to us once, but know that God is always working WITH you and not AGAINST you. So be confident that no matter where you are and who you are with, God will always find ways so that your heart will always find joy, hope, faith and love.
